The Quest

There once was a little twig, tall and dry

He had to find Fire and oh did he try

Today was his last day, he was running out of time

There wasn’t a mountain that he didn’t climb

Why seek Fire, Mother Earth asked him

I really need to, though my chances look slim

With him I’ll meet my Creator and today’s my last day

If I don’t manage, I will rot and decay

Go ask Air, Mother Earth kindly said

She needs to be there for Fire to spread

So the twig rushed around and finally found Air

Please help me, this anxiety, I can no longer bear

Air looked at him with a peaceful smile

And said, don’t worry twig, this is the last mile

Is it Fire you seek or the Creator

Go home now and ask yourself this later

As he walked back pondering, it was almost night

The sky gave way to Space and his endless might

Space looked down and felt sorry for the twig

He knew he had the answers that will finally click

Space called out, Dear little twig, dry and tall

The Creator is everywhere, in all things big and small

I know you want to give up, but you can still win

Remember, the only place you haven’t looked is within

And all of a sudden it finally made sense

It all came together in his final moments

He clasped his hands to pray in the dark

As his hands rubbed together, there was a spark.
